DERMAPLANING

An extremely gentle and pain-free procedure that aims to remove fine wrinkles and deep acne scarring and to give the skin’s surface a smoother appearance. Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique which utilizes a scalpel for hair removal. The process involves the removal and peach fuzz whilst lightly exfoliating the skin’s surface. 

WHAT IS DERMAPLANING? 

Dermaplaning, also commonly known as microplaning or blading is a procedure that aims to make skin’s surface smooth and youthful. This is achieved through the removal of uneven pockmarks in your skin and deep scarring from acne. Peach fuzz is also removed creating unbearably smooth results.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS/SIDE EFFECTS?

This is a low-risk treatment which may include slight facial redness following your appointment for a few hours. Infection and scarring may occur post dermaplaning, but it is often rare.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT POST TREATMENT?

Dermaplaning requires minimal recovery time. Skin may feel “scraped” within the 2-3 days following the treatment. Skin is expected to looking brighter immediately after the appointment, but optimal results may take a few days to appear. It is important to be cautious with sun exposure as it could reverse the effects of dermaplaning or create pigment blotching. Sunscreen must be worn in the next few weeks post procedure.

ARE THE RESULTS PERMANENT?

Unfortunately, no. Dermaplaning is said to clear up to three weeks’ worth of dead skills cells. Results typically fade after a month.

IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?

Dermaplaning procedures are painless, and some clients may experience a tingling sensation during the treatment.
